The ZX1100 A-1 of 1983 was the first year of the restyled 1100 range, with a frame-mounted half fairing and digital fuel injection on the air-cooled four. Magazine testers praised its top-end power, stability and brakes, though low-rev response and warm-up were criticised. It was the start of the A-series that ran to 1985.
